A spirited comeback saw Darlington fight back from two goals down to earn a draw at Altrincham on Tuesday evening.
Mark Cooper's side trailed 2-0 to second half goals at Moss Lane until the 81st minute when salvation came with Tommy Wright playing a leading role.
The striker, on as a substitute, leapt to meet a Gary Smith cross and did enough to prevent keeper Stuart Coburn from claiming the ball which sailed into the net.
And in the final minute Josh Gray, also on as a sub, sent over a high ball that Wright planted into the bottom corner of the net.
Mark Cooper substitutions had saved Quakers a point, but the manager was no satisified with his team's performance for the bulk of the game.
He said: "We might as well have not bothered turning up until half past nine because we didn't perform at all and that was not acceptable," he said.
"The positives are the character we showed in coming back from two goals down and we might even have won it in injury time.
"But they've got to be able to deal with these situations at a Conference ground."
A tepid first half featured only a handful chances for both sides with Chris Senior on the end of Quakers' best opportunity.
He fired a volley at Coburn who did well to save, but six minutes into second half Quakers keeper Sam Russell committed an error which led to the first goal.
He controlled a Joe Clark backpass and attempted to dribble out of his goalmouth, but he was dispossessed and that allowed Chris Denham to score.
The goal failed to spark Darlington into life and the hosts grabbed a second on 78 minutes, sub Dale Johnson turning home a low free-kick at close-range.
But then the Darlington fightback began, instigated by Cooper's substitutions.
