A spokesperson said; "Jon Sotnick is leaving Darlington Football Club by mutual agreement. This has been necessary in order to rationalize the senior management costs to ensure all possible investment is maintained on the team. Jon will transfer his skills to another of the chairman's companies. Jon is a talented individual who played an important part in the development of the club in 2006 and 2007. Despite the exceptionally good performance of the league-topping squad, gates have not yet met expectations and costs need to be controlled. This is a responsible approach by the Chairman and Jon Sotnick fully appreciates the reasons behind the decision."
