Darlington have signed Liechtenstein international Franz Burgmeier on a one-year contract.

The winger, who played in Liechtenstein's 2-0 defeat to Albania on Wednesday night, has impressed Dave Penney while on trial with Quakers.

The 26-year-old has almost 50 international caps and spent the last three years of his career in Switzerland - playing alongside former Quakers striker Gaetano Giallanza.

Manager, Dave Penney is likely to include Burgmeier in the squad to face Gillingham at the Darlington Arena this Saturday.
