Craig Liddle admits there'll be changes made for tonight's League Two clash at home to Rochdale.
Darlo take on Dale at the Northern Echo Arena this evening in the first game since Colin Todd's departure at the weekend.
And caretaker boss Liddle, assisted by Neil Maddison, is expected to give young striker Curtis Main a start.
"Young boys don't have that fear that older professionals have," admitted Liddle, Quakers' head of youth. "They are coming into the situation fresh so I'm hoping, if I do include one or two, that will be the case.
"There's one or two changes that we'll make. There's the young lads who I work with on a daily basis so I know what they're all about and I can trust them so you might see one or two of them included as well.
"I spoke to Colin before about the kids but he thought it wasn't right to give them a chance - and understandably so because things have been tough. But we haven't got a great deal to lose so why not chuck one or two in and see what they can do? "
Liddle has remained a big favourite with Darlington's fans since he ended his playing days four years ago, having played more than 300 games for the club.
"Every emotion is going through my head, but I'm looking forward to it," he said. "It's not every day you get this kind of opportunity.
"Hopefully I can get a win or two and then we'll see what the club decides. If they decide to appoint from outside then that would be fine as I thoroughly enjoy my job with the young lads. I'm just planning to enjoy the experience and then we'll see where we go from there."
