Darlington welcome full back Paul Arnison back into the squad following injury for tomorrow's home game with Macclesfield Town.
And, if he passes a fitness test, young winger Josh Gray will also be available.
Neither is likely to start as they are not fit enough to play a full 90 minutes, though they give caretaker manger Craig Liddle and his assistant Neil Maddison valuable options.
With winger Jamie Devitt and full back Tony Kane still building up their fitness, as neither had played before arriving on a month's loan, Arnison and Gray could have a role to play.
"We need competition for places, with players pushing each other," said Liddle. "The spirit in the squad is excellent, and they are giving 100 per cent in training and in matches, though when players are pushing for places it should bring the best out of those in the side."
"Arnison has vast experience, and as we already have several youngsters in the side, having him back is a big boost. Gray gives us options on the wing. As Saturday's game is massive for us, the more fit players we have the better. I am convinced that a win will give the whole club a massive list. We have not won at home and Macclesfield have not won a way. So if something gives, I hope it is in our favour."
"We have had Macclesfield watched, and know they will be a big challenge. But I believe that we can win a game soon, and I want this one to be the one that gets us up and running."
