QUAKERS MATCH POSTPONED

Posted on: Wed 06 Jan 2010

Darlington's Coca-Cola League Two game at Rotherham United today (Saturday December 26) has been postponed after a pitch inspection this morning.

The Quakers were due to play the Millers at the Don Valley Stadium today (3pm kick-off) but it has been called off due to a frozen pitch.

Darlo's game at home to Northampton last Saturday was postponed due to a frozen pitch, and the club are hoping volunteers will help them to remove snow from the Northern Echo Arena playing surface from 9am tomorrow (Sunday December 27) in order for Monday's game against Lincoln to have any chance of going ahead.

Volunteers will be rewarded with match tickets for forthcoming games as well as hot food and drinks throughout the day tomorrow.

"We really need all the help we can get to make Monday's game possible," said the club's general manager Phil Preston.

"We can really do without another postponed match so it's very important that we do everything we can to give it the best chance, and we desperately need fans to come and help us out again tomorrow to make that possible."

Darlington are advising fans that the West Stand at the Northern Echo Arena will be closed for Monday's game for safety reasons.

Tickets are available from the ticket office at the Northern Echo Arena or the Cornmill Centre today and from the ticket office on the day of the game, or call the ticket office on 0871 855 1883.
