COOPER RELISHING OWLS VISIT

Posted on: Tue 20 Jul 2010

By Martin Walker

Mark Cooper is looking forward to welcoming Sheffield Wednesday to the Northern Echo Arena tonight in the club's second pre-season friendly of the summer.

Darlo take on Alan Irvine's side at the Arena tonight (7.30pm kick-off) following the 1-0 defeat at home to Premier League side Sunderland on Saturday.

And Cooper is hoping to see a similar performance from his side as the Quakers squad look to continue building their match fitness.

"I'd be happy if we work as hard as we did on Saturday," he said.

"We put a shift in against Sunderland and we got a lot out of it. We need to do the same again tonight against a side who will also make us run and will have a lot of the ball.

"Results aren't important at this stage, our shape and discipline is, but it would be nice to see the odd goal as a reward for all the hard work.

"But it'll be nice to see another big club at the Arena. I know Alan really well, he's a top man and a great coach.

"Sheffield Wednesday have made a few signings, the likes of Clinton Morrison, and we'll hopefully see them all tonight, it should be another good game."
