SENIOR RULED OUT

Posted on: Tue 20 Jul 2010

By Martin Walker

New signing Chris Senior will not feature in tonight's pre-season friendly at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

The striker, who was forced out of the Sunderland friendly after 18 minutes with a dead leg, is the only absentee for the visit of the Owls tonight.

Captain Ian Miller was the only other doubt after he suffered a cut to the face on Saturday, but he's OK.

Mark Cooper said: "It's just a precautionary measure. Chris suffered the dead leg and we thought he'd recover in time but it's safer to rest him and he'll hopefully be OK for the Carlisle game on Friday.

"Everyone else is fine so we should be able to get a lot of run-outs tonight.

"At this stage it's about trying to get match minutes under players' belts so we'll try to get as many out there as we can."

Tonight's game kicks off at 7.30pm - admission is £10 adults and £5 concessions and tickets are available from the ticket offices up to kick-off.
