Mark Cooper has admitted he's keen to bring in new faces at the Arena, with experienced defender Kevin Austin top of the list.

The Darlington manager is waiting for a decision from Austin after offering him a contract on Thursday.

Cooper says the 37-year-old, formerly of Chesterfield, Swansea and Bristol Rovers, would be ideal for the Quakers as he bids to put the finishing touches to his squad.

"I have spoken to him," he said, after Darlington's 3-0 defeat at home to Carlisle on Friday night.

"He is speaking to a couple of other clubs and he has to decide who he wants to join.

"I have made him an offer and I hope he signs. He would be ideal for us. He can play centre-back and he can play left-back.

"He is a big lad, played loads of games and he would be right up our street.

"We are desperately trying to bring in one or two bodies that would just finish us off and give us a bit of experience.

"We keep going and it's not easy. We want to make sure we bring the right people to the right club and it's not easy."
