HATCH BACK IN TWO WEEKS

Posted on: Wed 28 Jul 2010

By Martin Walker in the Lakes

Striker Liam Hatch could be back in action in a fortnight after scans tonight revealed he has not broken his elbow.

The striker had to be substituted in the 38th minute of tonight's 3-0 win at Blue Square North side Workington on the West coast of Cumbria.

Hatch was proving a handful for the Reds and scored the third goal as the Quakers raced into a three-goal lead within 16 minutes at Borough Park.

But the on-loan Peterborough forward tumbled awkwardly after being tripped by Workington defender Kyle May on the right-hand side of the penalty area.

He was taken to hospital amid fears he'd possibly dislocated or even broken his elbow.

But Cooper was relieved to confirm Hatch has only suffered ligament damage after his elbow joint had "popped out of place".

"We're relieved to learn that Liam has only suffered ligament damage to his elbow," said the Darlo manager.

"It popped out of place but then back in again. It'll be sore for a while but hopefully he won't be out for any longer than two weeks."
