BURY LOOKING AT MAIN

Posted on: Fri 03 Sep 2010

By Martin Walker

Mark Cooper has admitted he can't stand in anyone's way if they want to seek League football, with Curtis Main joining League Two side Bury on trial this week.

Although early days, Main trained Tuesday and Wednesday for the Shakers and scored twice in a friendly against Northern Premier League Premier Division side Retford United on Wednesday night.

Quakers boss Mark Cooper said: "He played in a practice game and we're just waiting to hear whether they want another look at him.

"But we're not going to stand in anyone's way if they want to go into League football, if the deals right for Darlington.

"It couldn't be permanent until January so it would have to be a loan to begin with, but we're a long way from that yet."
