Richard Dryden bemoaned Darlington's "unprofessional" performance at Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.
Darlington's assistant manager spoke to the media after the disappointing point on the South coast, when the Quakers failed to beat a part-time outfit who were reduced to nine men with an hour to go.
Boss Mark Cooper declined to conduct his usual press post-mortem for fear of saying something he'd regret.
Dryden explained: "He's frightened he'll say something he'll regret in the heat of the moment.
"It's desperately disappointing. If you go 1-0 up then realistically if you're a side with anything about you, you've got the game won against nine men.
"You keep the ball, get the ball wide and get your crosses in but I can't remember the keeper making three or four saves.
"We were unprofessional and there will be changes. We've given people a lot of chances but if we're not hitting the target then other people have got to come in.
"We need someone who is going to stick the ball in the net, crosses are coming in and no one seems to be interested in getting their head on the end of it."
Darlington have a full week to prepare for Saturday's home game against Forest Green Rovers at the Northern Echo Arena this Saturday.
Cooper will undoubtedly make changes and, like supporters, will demand an improvement.
