Darlington assistant manager Mark Proctor is relishing the prospect of taking on League two pace setters Carlisle United this coming weekend. The 96.6 TFM Darlington Arena is set to play host to its biggest crowd of the season as Carlisle United supporters descend upon Quakers' home near the A66.

Darlington closed the gap between themselves and the play-off places to five points with a gritty 1-0 win over Chester City and Proctor is hoping that his side can use what he expects to be a good atmosphere to further decrease the distance between Quakers and that magical seventh spot in the table.

"On our day we can match anyone and hopefully next Saturday will be that day"

"By all accounts they are bringing three to four thousand people which hopefully we can match," said Proctor. "It should give us a good crowd and hopefully that will create a great atmosphere. We are really looking forward to it being the League leaders. Hopefully we can grab another three points and whittle that gap down even more. We are really looking forward to the weekend."

The performance in Quakers' last match against a lowly Chester side was hardly the most inspiring one Darlington have turned in during the course of the season. David Hodgson's men have played much better however and ended up on the wrong end of defeats. Quakers traditionally seem to do better against sides further up the table and Proctor is confident that the players will raise their game to one that will seriously threaten Carlisle's hunt for promotion.

"I think it will (be a better performance). During my short space of time at Darlington we seem to do better against the better teams and the league leaders being in town should motivate and inspire the boys to bring the best out in themselves. On our day we can match anyone and hopefully next Saturday will be that day," said Proctor.

Meanwhile Darlington midfielder Clark Keltie will miss the next four games, starting with the visit of Carlisle United, following his dismissal on Saturday. Keltie was shown a straight red for an off the ball incident and having already been sent off in a previous game this campaign his ban was made longer.
