Darlington entertain Rotherham United on Boxing Day as they look to continue their excellent form. Quakers have won their last five league games and find themselves firmly entrenched amongst the top teams in the division. Dave Penney's men will be looking to add further weight to their push for promotion as fellow high flying Millers roll into town.

Rotherham have lost just three times this season however one of those defeats came at the hands of Darlington as Quakers sealed a 2-0 win back in September - make no mistake this is a game between two sides who have more than a decent chance of gaining promotion come the end of the campaign. Both teams go into this Boxing Day encounter with excellent results in their previous matches. Quakers recorded their second successive 4-0 away win whilst Rotherham bagged a 3-0 home win over Wrexham.

Darlington's result over Lincoln City will leave them in excellent mood but despite the result Penney admits that the display at Blundell Park at the beginning of the month was superior to that at Sincil Bank on Saturday. He said: "It wasn't as good as the win at Grimsby, but its just as good a win because Lincoln had won three out of four games and have a new manager, which had given them a boost, whereas Grimsby were struggling for confidence. So that means that this was probably a better result, but Grimsby was a better performance all round."

Since their last league defeat Darlington have not conceded a goal. Quakers have been formidable for most of the season so far but it away from home where things have been that little bit extra special. Whilst home performances have also been of the highest quality Darlington have the ability to hit teams on the break during their travels. Penney points out that at home Quakers will have to be slightly more patient.

"When youre away from home the onus is on the home team to come at you and were quite good at breaking out," said Penney. "When you're at home teams can come to defend so you have to play a different way and have to be a bit cuter. It was like that at MK Dons on Friday. Brentford got a goal and tried to sit back and hang on to their lead but MK were patient and tried to break them down and eventually they did."

Darlington's game with Rotherham kicks off at 3pm on Boxing Day. Supporters are encouraged to arrive in good time for the match.
