Darlington are hoping to return to action tomorrow night when they travel to Rotherham United. Quakers haven't played since the middle of December. Their frustration was increased by the postponement of the Aldershot fixture on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch.
Quakers have the option of handing several players debuts. Manager Steve Staunton has been busy during the January transfer window and it means Tadhg Purcell, Gary Dempsey, Simon Madden and Gareth Waite can all make their bows for Darlington. Quakers have also secured the services of Alan White on loan from Luton Town after his departure in the summer.
Darlington's frustration at Saturday's match being called off was more than understandable - Staunton led his players in a training session on the pitch after the decision was made. Rotherham like Darlington have endured a forced period out of action. They haven't played since December 12th. The Millers will be hoping that they can pick up from where they left off - a 4-2 win at Bradford City having seen their game fall at the weekend.
"To be fair to Accrington they did everything they could to get the game on at the weekend. They were on the pitch all day shifting the snow but when the rain came there wasn't a lot they could do about it unfortunately," said Ronnie Moore on the club's official site. "Darlington have had similar problems and I don't think they've played since 12th December either so it should be interesting because I don't know a great deal about them and I don't imagine they know much about us either. I think the last time they played they lost 5-0 to Torquay but we haven't had them watched so we don't know much about them."
