Darlington head to Crewe this weekend hoping to build upon their success in midweek. Quakers recorded their first away win of the campaign at Rotherham and will be hoping to add to their points tally tomorrow.
Quakers will be boosted by few fresh injury concerns for this fixture. Indeed Darlington will have an extra player at their disposal thanks to Simon Madden's return from suspension. The defender was unable to make his Darlington bow on Tuesday night but could be involved with fellow new signings Tadhg Purcell, Gary Dempsey, Gareth Waite and Alan White.
All of them played their part in the win at Rotherham United in midweek. Quakers though are not getting carried away by one fixture says Dempsey. Speaking in the Evening Gazette he said:
"It's amazing what a win at a place like Rotherham can do for confidence. It just shows what a strange game football is," he said. "The three points are great for us, but I think what gives the players the biggest lift is that we deserved to win. It wasn't a pretty game but we stuck at it, created the better chances and put them away. It was scrappy at the end and the lads had to dig in.
"There was a lot of hustle and bustle in the game and it was not really a night to get the ball down and play, but at times we did that, and that gives the lads a lot of belief. But it is very important for us not to get carried away. This was just one game."
Crewe meanwhile will be boosted by the return of Calvin Zola. The striker missed the games at Dagenham and Hereford complaining of restricted vision after a ball struck him in the face in training. After a specialist examination has confirmed no serious damage he should return to action this weekend.
