DARLINGTON V NOTTS COUNTY

Posted on: Mon 22 Feb 2010

Darlington take on Notts County tomorrow night at the Northern Echo Arena. Quakers will be looking to bounce back from the defeat to Chesterfield. The hosts were in total control until the final ten minutes when the visitors somehow managed to score three quick goals to win the game.

Quakers will take on a County side who have endured a difficult season. The Magpies were swimming in cash at the start of the season with a former England manager in the building and a number of high profile players promised. Since then things have changed and there is a new owner in charge. As both sides prepare to play tomorrow night Notts County are expected to make a statement regarding numerous aspects of the club.

In the meantime the most pressing concern will be the weather. Snow has once again hit the region during Sunday and again on Monday morning. Whilst the snow is melting temperatures are still very low. Quakers have already lost a number of games to a long harsh winter and will be hoping that this one does not go the same way.

Darlington should not have any fresh injury worries for this game. Meanwhile County's leading scorer Lee Hughes could be one of three strikers to return to the Notts County squad for the trip. Hughes was absent from the 1-1 draw with Aldershot thanks to suspension and could go straight into the side on Tuesday. Ade Akinbiyi could be back in the team as well. Elsewhere John Thompson remains a doubt after a thigh injury.

Darlington's game with Notts County will kick-off at 7.45pm.
