Following a hat-trick in a pre-season at Durham City Quakers snapped up Scottish forward Ian Harty. The player joined Darlington ahead of the 2007/08 campaign however before his move to the North East Harty had impressed for a number of clubs in Scotland.
Harty hit the net over 100 times for several clubs including Albion, Stranraer, Clyde, Hamilton, Raith and Airdrie. Harty joined Raith in July 2006 until the end of the year. Despite the potential to extend his contract with Raith and scoring four times in nine starts for the club he elected to join Airdrie United in February where he scored five times before the end of the 2006/07 season.
