Miller made his football league debut for Boston United in November 2006. The defender played twelve league games for Boston during his loan spell which ended in the middle of January 2007 when he was recalled.
Less than a month later Miller joined Darlington on loan as manager Dave Penney looked to boost his options at the back. The Colchester born defender made his debut for Darlington against his former side Boston United where he scored the opening goal of the game as Quakers went on to win 2-0.
Miller went on to turn in a number of good performances during an impressive loan spell and rejoined the club, again on loan, before the start of the 2007/08 campaign.
