Chandler - man-of-the-match in the FA Trophy final against Mansfield - agreed to join Darlington in May 2010 on a pre-contract arrangement after being released by Sunderland at the end of the 2009-10 season.
He played 14 games on loan with Darlington during a four-month loan spell in 2009 before returning to the Stadium of Light in November.
Chandler spent 11 years with the club from schoolboy age but became a free agent after his senior deal with the Black Cats expired.
He was capped at several youth levels during his time with the Wearsiders, including the Under-19s, U-17s and U-16s.
